I’m a mother, minister, writer, preacher, and ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. My partner Claire and I have two beautiful children: Isobel (9) and Harry (5) and we live in Chicago. Until recently I was a part-time/on-call chaplain for JourneyCare, a hospice and palliative care center covering large areas of Chicago and the north and southwest suburbs. I now pastor a small church in Evanston, IL. In my previous life I was a writer and project manager for the University of Chicago. I also worked as a beat reporter, columnist and feature writer for the Springfield, MO Daily News.
I have a special love for Croatia, the birthplace of my grandfather and other ancestors on my father’s side of the family.
For the past 30 years I have studied, worked hard, waited, and sacrificed to pursue my life’s goal of becoming a parish minister. I bring many gifts to this calling, among them extensive theological training, ministry training and experience, significant practice in public speaking and preaching, comfort with listening and empathic engagement, well-honed relational skills, and varied life experience.
